How to start a voice dream journal
You do not need a complete story to begin. A sentence about a room, a person, or a feeling is an entry worth keeping.
Make recording easy
Keep your recorder within reach before bed. Choose a place where speaking will not disturb someone else; a written note works too.
Begin with a few anchors
When you wake, describe the place, who was there, and what happened. If you remember only a color or a feeling, say that. Leave gaps instead of filling them in.
Separate memory from reflection
First record the dream as you recall it. Add waking thoughts afterward so you can tell what belonged to the scene and what occurred to you later.
Return without grading yourself
Date the entry and give it a short title. Some mornings will leave only a fragment or nothing at all. Your journal is a collection, not a test.
